Inside Shanghai International terminal 1 | PVG, China

Well I guess it’s better to be too early for one’s flight. Anyway, I can’t even check in yet. damn So I’m just gonna continue to wander around, get in some good exercise before this long-haul flight. It’s not that long, it’s like 10, 11 hours to Sydney. And it’s night, so hopefully I can just sleep. Anyway, please check out my flight review flying with China Eastern. I’ll put it in the description box below. There’s not many places to sit if you’re early, a few restaurants here in departures. Starbucks is my best bet. But I’m not up for a latte at this time of night. Hope there’s more after security. There sort of seems to be a few stores right at the end, of course there’s little convenience stores to get water. The lounges here in Shanghai, which I have had before is they give you this card which they have filled in. Manually. As an invitation. Unlike in other places where you can just pitch up to the lounge and they would scan your boarding pass and away you go. No, no, let’s go with this manual system, where you have to have an invite. So make sure when you check-in that you ask, should you be entitled to it. Because they don’t always give it to you and then once you get through security, get to the lounge, they can’t do anything because you don’t have the magical card. It’s just not what it is in other places. I’m just saying beware, and I’ve certainly had this problem when last time when I was in China, and I was Qantas Gold and China Eastern domestically would not acknowledge that and not give me access to the lounges which they should according to their agreement according to the Qantas website. So please just be aware that the staff may not know and therefore you can’t do anything about it, even if you show them the Qantas website where it says so. Scroll down to like the bit where where it says we will, you know, you are entitled to lounge access if you’re flying between these and these places within within Mainland China. It doesn’t always work. Right onto the lounge. Well through security first. Oh, I better fill in my form, where the hell is it? Make sure when you come through arriving into Mainland China then you hold on to your departure card. It’s for immigration clearance. So I’m just gonna fill it out before I have to join a queue. Well, that’s always handy to carry a pen. Usually I would fill this out standing in the queue. It also helps to know your passport number off by heart, but that takes a bit of travelling. security immigration
