The entire committee is very pleased and proud to receive this award. There was so much effort and so much work taking place behind the scenes and so really the level of dedication and all of the support network from the Standards Council of Canada and the CSA, I’m just grateful that that work takes place. It has really improved health care across Canada and I think going forward as we continue to work with standards and we continue to bring in concepts and programs that are developed internationally and bring them to Canada or to give that input from Canada to those programs and then bring them back, we are going to continue to make things better in hospitals. It’s going to continue to make products better so that health care workers have an easier job and that they can continue to really deliver that high standard of care that everybody in Canada expects. Dr. Bauer and his committee are helping to minimize infection rates and improve patient care which makes a significant contribution to the quality of health care in Canada. The committee’s work is aimed at improving Canadians’ quality of life by reducing the use of improperly sterilized medical devices that are used in patient care which we know poses a serious risk to patient safety. We are pleased to have an open and collaborative relationship with the SCC. We share a mutual determination to really raise the bar in health care and demonstrate the value in doing so for the betterment of all Canadians. We are currently working with the SCC to see how we can integrate ISO certification for our laboratory and accreditation processes. To be able to work with the standards and have a greater impact in that and to be able to improve it across the country at the national level as well as around the world is just impressive and I’m grateful that the entire process takes place.
